Mrs. Patricia Tucker

Do you love Social Studies?  Well, I do.  I have life long interest in geography, history, politics and world affairs.  I'm a 1986 graduate of Austin College with a degree in International Studies.  I moved to Washington D.C. and did an internship with a political think tank, the Heritage Foundation and worked for an unofficial embassy for the country of Angola as their office manager.  I went back to school and received a teacher certificate from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1990 and started my teaching career at Robert E. Lee in which I taught for the next 10 years. I resumed my teaching career in 2001 at John Tyler High School where I primarly taught Economics and AP Economics but also World History, Geography and Government. I have been a successful sponsor of the Texas State Citizen Bee in which we won the State Competition in 2013 and received all the awards in the regional competition in 2014. I am currently teacing World History at Early College High School and also the UIL coordinator.

In my personal life, I have been married for the last 31 years and lived in Tyler for all of my married life.  We have four children:  Nicole, Taylor, Brandon and Carly.  My daughter Nicole has three children Tyler, Russ and Lee.

I hope you already have an interest in the outside world, but if not I hope you develop a love for it.
