Mrs. Patricia Tucker

Do you love Social Studies?  Well, I do.  I have life long interest in geography, history, politics and world affairs.  I'm a 1986 graduate of Austin College with a degree in International Studies.  I moved to Washington D.C. and did an internship with a political think tank, the Heritage Foundation and worked for an unofficial embassy for the country of Angola as their office manager.  I went back to school and received a teacher certificate from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1990 and started my teaching career at Robert E. Lee in which I taught for the next 10 years. I resumed my teaching career in 2001 at John Tyler High School where I primarly taught Economics and AP Economics but also World History, Geography and Government. I have been a successful sponsor of the Texas State Citizen Bee in which we won the State Competition in 2013 and received all the awards in the regional competition in 2014.

In my personal life, I have been married for the last 27 years and lived in Tyler for all of my married life.  We have four children:  Nicole 26, Taylor 23, Brandon 21 and little Carly 10.  My daughter Nicole has one little girl named Tyler Ann, 2 and a baby boy on the way in October.

I hope you already have an interest in the outside world, but if not I hope you develop a love for it.
