I believe all students are unique and should be treated as such. Learning should be challenging and related to life's future endeavors.
I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education. I have taught most subjects within my field. I have seen the area change names from Homemaking to Home Economics and now to Family & Consumer Science. Regardless of the name of the program, the goal is to prepare students to communicate in the field.
Fashion Design is my current teaching assignment and one of my favorite areas in the field. Both Fashion Design and Advanced Fashion Design are fast paced and require an extensive amount of working vocabulary to be able to communicate in the field. Students who take these courses should be devoted to producing high quality work. The fashion industry is one of the most competitive industries, so being on top of your skills and current will be an asset.
