The Tyler ISD Library Media Program provides instruction, resources, and services to assist our learning community in becoming effective users of ideas and information.
School Media Technology Specialists:
- Provide instruction to stimulate interest and foster competence in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas.
- Empower students and staff with skills to live, learn, and work in a digital society, and make safe, smart, and ethical online decisions.
- Provide leadership and instruction that support the district's curriculum and is central to the learning process.
- Provide innovative professional learning opportunities that foster communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
Texas students will attain knowledge and skills to become accomplished readers, independent learners, critical thinkers, creative problem-solvers, and informed citizens through the expertise of school media technology specialists and the use of resources and services provided by school library programs.
