National Tests (ACT/SAT/PSAT)

  • Several assessments are used to assess college readiness of students in Tyler ISD depending on that student’s current grade and proximity to college.

Students in the 8th grade AVID, 10th grade, and 11th grade are provided the opportunity to take the PSAT and NMSQT to assess their level of college readiness. This exam is provided at no cost to the students in October. Additional information as well as study materials can be found on the College Board’s website.

    ACT and SAT
As students are preparing for college, they will need to take a college preparatory exam such as the ACT or SAT. Both are available in Tyler ISD through the College & Career Department. Information on these exams, registration, and preparatory materials can be found on their webpage.
