John Tyler High School:
Chanel Howard-Veazy comes to Tyler ISD from Sealy ISD where she has served as executive director of curriculum and instruction and district testing director since 2016. Ms. Howard-Veazy has served most of her 24-year educational career in Dallas ISD as principal at Lincoln High School and Humanities/Communication Magnet, Fred Florence Middle School and Thomas Tolbert Elementary School. She also served as associate principal at Pearl C. Anderson Middle Learning Center and dean of instruction at Sarah Zumwalt Middle School. Inside the classroom, Ms. Howard-Veazy taught general, Pre-AP and AP English in Dallas, LaMarque and Denton ISDs as well as Ouachita Parish Schools in Louisiana.
Ms. Howard-Veazy earned a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Grambling State University, a Master of Education in Educational Administration & Supervision from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and completed her superintendent certification at The University of Texas at Arlington.
