  • New Student Registration

     

    New Student Registration will be held Monday, August 13th in the John Tyler Library from 8:30 – 4:00 pm. 

     

    Parents – please bring the following items:

    • Birth certificate

    • Immunizations

    • Transcript of all high school courses taken (last report card)

    • Proof of address

    • Child’s social security card

    • Parent ID or driver’s license

     Students enrolling must be present with parent at the time of the enrollment.

    Paper & Pen Parent Self-Serve Portal (PSS Portal) - Parents/Guardians of students can set up an account to view their children's attendance, assignments & grades. Parents can also set up e-mail alerts that will be sent whenever their child is absent or a grade is entered that falls below a value determined by the parent. Parents can also complete the yearly Online Registration process through PSS.

    Online registration will replace paper registration packets. Click here to register your student.

    The JT Summer Academic Program consists of three options: 

     

    • Accelerated Instruction 

    (EOC tutorials in preparation for retesting)

    (June 11th -22nd) - No Cost

     

    • Credit Recovery

    (See Registration Packet for course options)

    (June 11th – June 29th)

     

    • Credit Acceleration 

    (Economics, Government, Health, and Speech only)

    Chanel Veazy, John Tyler High School Principal

    Chanel Howard-Veazy    

    Chanel Howard-Veazy comes to Tyler ISD from Sealy ISD where she has served as executive director of curriculum and instruction and district testing director since 2016. Ms. Howard-Veazy has served most of her 24-year educational career in Dallas ISD as principal at Lincoln High School and Humanities/Communication Magnet, Fred Florence Middle School and Thomas Tolbert Elementary School. She also served as associate principal at Pearl C. Anderson Middle Learning Center and dean of instruction at Sarah Zumwalt Middle School. Inside the classroom, Ms. Howard-Veazy taught general, Pre-AP and AP English in Dallas, LaMarque and Denton ISDs as well as Ouachita Parish Schools in Louisiana.

     

    Ms. Howard-Veazy earned a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Grambling State University, a Master of Education in Educational Administration & Supervision from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, and completed her superintendent certification at The University of Texas at Arlington. Welcome to John Tyler High School!
