Grants in Progress - John Tyler High School - Rollicking Robots

Twenty-six teams from all over the State of Texas gathered at John Tyler High School’s junior varsity gym for an all-day robotics competition, which resulted in several students qualifying for nationals and world competitions.

Jimmy Bybee organized the event from grant funding from Tyler ISD Foundation.

Teams from Galena Park ISD, Richardson ISD, home schools, a Mondrian high school and many others from across the state were in attendance.  Some schools left their homes at 3:15 a.m. to attend the event.  University of Tyler at Texas had many volunteers assist in the competition.

John Tyler High School students would like to give a special thanks to the Tyler ISD Foundation for the grant they gave to make this program successful. Grants like this will make the STEMS programs successful in education today.
