2017-02-16 Tyler ISD, Suddenlink to Host 2nd Annual Student Film Festival

film festival Tyler – Calling all filmmakers! The entry period for the 2nd annual TISD-TV Rising Star Student Film Festival, sponsored by Suddenlink, is now open. The festival is an opportunity for students to develop their visual literacy and expand their educational experience in Tyler ISD by fostering the creative, artistic, communication and technical skills required for producing a movie.

 

“Suddenlink is honored to continue our involvement with the TISD-TV Rising Star Film Festival,” Keri Clark, Suddenlink sales and community manager, said.  “The innovation displayed by Tyler ISD students last year was beyond impressive. We can’t wait to see what they do next.”

Students have four entry categories to choose from including Story, Documentary, Animation and Public Service Announcement (PSA) and have the chance to be honored at an awards ceremony on Monday, May 8, 2017 at Caldwell Auditorium.

 

“We had some wonderful entries in all age groups and categories last year,” TISD-TV Coordinator Angela Duitch said. “The creativity of our Tyler ISD students is fantastic! I can’t wait to see this year’s entries.”

 
Deadline to submit entries is Friday, March 31. Students may submit their work as a solo project, group project, or even as a class project. Students can enter as many projects as they wish.
