Rolling in Style brings in funds for Moore MST

Over 150 Moore students were recently treated to a bowling party for supporting the school wide fund raising initiatives on campus.  Students sold magazine subscriptions and discount cards to raise $9,460.00 for their school.

D-FY-IT Speaker from the FBI

On November 19, 2008, DFYIT had FBI  Agent Jeff Millslagle come and talk to the students in the C gym about drugs.  He talked about the drug they see the most on the streets which is methamphetamines.

All-City Band Auditions

On Tuesday evening, November 18th, 7th and 8th grade members of the Moore Mustang Band competed in the All-City Band auditions.  Over 250 students competed for 94 spots in the band against students from all of the other Tyler middle schools.

Cheerleaders Win Double State Championship

Moore’s competition squad brought home a double state championship from NCA’s State-level cheer contest at Southern Methodist University this past weekend.  The team placed first in the performance division, as well as first place in the game day division.

All Region Choir

Congratulations to the 15 members of the Moore Middle School choir who earned a top East Texas honor.  These students each earned a coveted spot in the All Region Choir.

Punt Pass & Kick

On Saturday, October 25th Antreanna Brooks (6th grade) traveled to Longview to compete in the Sectional Competition for Punt Pass & Kick.  There were 6 girls in her age division competing and it was a tough competition.

Moore Band marches in Rose Parade

On Saturday, October 18th, our very own Moore Mustang Band, along with the Mustang Cheerleaders, marched in the 75th Annual Tyler Rose Parade.

Powder Puff Game at Moore

The Moore Mustang cheerleaders and the football players reversed rolls for a school fundraiser on Friday, October 31st.  The event was a huge success with funds raised to help the Moore cheerleaders go to state competition in December.

Moore hosts 9th MST Family Night

On October 16th, Moore hosted its 9th annual Math, Science and Technology Night.  Parents and students enjoyed friendly competitions as several hundred visitors enjoyed “hands on” math and science activities that sometimes created a “family feud”.

Student Council hands out tricks or treats?

Students at Bell and Clarkston Elementary received an early Halloween treat when Student Council members from Moore showed up in full costumes with books in hand.  Thirty students from Moore visited with classes at these elementary campuses to share with them their love of reading.

Moore celebrates Red Ribbon Week

Moore celebrated Red Ribbon week from Oct. 20 – 24. D-FY-IT board members decorated the school with banners and ribbons to show that Moore students stay away from drugs.

WOW!  Congratulations to the Mustang Cheerleaders for their stunning victory at the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader contest on Sunday.  Our cheerleaders won first place in the middle school category.

Moore Food Service News

Tyler ISD Food Service Department is proud to introduce the new Moore MST Magnet Serving Lines.  These lines were purchased over the summer to replace the two serving lines that have been in place for years with minimal serving capabilities.

School Wide Fundraiser

The Moore MST School-wide fundraiser kicked off on Friday, August 29th.  Students will have two weeks to participate by selling Moore Campus Discount Cards for $10.00 each for savings at local restaurants and businesses or by selling magazine subscriptions.

Showtime International Dance Camp

Moore Middle School Cheerleaders traded in their megaphones for dance shoes and earned Sweepstakes honors at the Showtime International Dance Camp held August 13-14 in Tyler.

Cheer Girls win yet again at Baylor

It's the largest camp Baylor has ever had - almost 500 campers and 36 total teams.  26 of those teams were high school teams.  It was also the hardest camp....
