IB MYP Areas of
Interaction
The
IB MYP Areas of Interaction form the basis of the MYP. They
contribute to an education resulting in global awareness,
international understanding and an appreciation of cultural
diversity. There are five Areas of Interaction:
Approaches
to Learning
Health & Social Education
Environments
Human Ingenuity
Community & Service
The Areas of Interaction
provide a means of broadening the experience of the
students. This model is designed so that students will
become increasingly aware of the connections between subject
content and the real world, rather than considering subjects
as isolated areas unrelated to each other and to the world.

good physical, mental, and emotional health and the
interactions between the individual and the
community. |
Focuses on the interdependence
of humanity and the world we live in. Students
learn that there are different types of environments
and that their actions have an impact. |
Focuses on opportunities for
students to appreciate the human capacity and drive
to invent, transform, enjoy, and improve the quality
of life over time. Students will also develop a
sense of their own creativity. |
Goes beyond the classroom and
encourages responsible, caring participation in the
student’s local setting and in the world. Students
have the opportunity to learn how other people live
while giving something back to society.
