Mission Statement: 

Students are the highest priority for the Robert E. Lee Academy of Visual and Performing Arts. As performers, creators, and teachers of the arts and arts-related disciplines, the faculty seeks to employ creative, research-based instructional methods that actively engage and foster the learning of ALL students in their academy. In order to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for life and career, the Academy endeavors to involve students in authentic learning activities of meaning and worth both to themselves and to society. It further encourages students to explore career options in the arts and in careers related to the arts. Finally, the Academy strives to involve parents, leaders in the arts and arts-related businesses, and the community as a whole in providing a supportive physical, academic, and artistic environment that promotes student and faculty excellence.
