Elementary students from various campuses visited Moore Farms in Bullard.  Students  learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin,  how to identify pumpkins and enjoyed free time with games.  Each student also brought home their own "perfect" pumpkin.

District Raises Scholarship Funds with Help from
Senator Eltife
 The Tyler Independent School District, along with Texas State Senator Kevin Eltife, are combining their efforts to contribute to the Todd Henry Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The scholarship fund was set up by the Henry family days after the teacher’s death at the John Tyler campus.  As employees and campuses throughout the District are pooling their funds to make one donation on behalf of the District, Senator Eltife has graciously stepped forward to match the District’s total, dollar for dollar, up to $10,000 in contributions.  READ MORE

TISD Student Continues Musical Mission of Peace
 A Tyler ISD student’s passion for music has earned her the recognition of being an exceptional violist.  Robert E. Lee High School’s Jessica Emery is the recipient of the 2009 Daniel Pearl Memorial Violin.  The award is in memory of Daniel Pearl the violinist, fiddler and Wall Street Journal reporter who was murdered in Pakistan in 2002.
