TSI Testing will take place at Robert E Lee High School May 15th - 19th

    • Q: Who takes TSI?
A: All Juniors & Sophomores entering concurrent classes next year.
Testing room assignments will be shared through ENG3/US History classes and are posted in the B unit window for students to check.

    • Q: I am a Junior in concurrent classes (Translation: I took the TSI last year)
A: Any Junior that has already successfully completed the TSI exam will NOT need to retake it.
Juniors may also be exempt based on other test scores.  The TSI is composed of 3 sections: Reading, Writing & Math.  See your counselor if you are unsure which sections you may have already taken.

    • Q: I am scheduled to take the TSI test, but have an AP or IB exam conflict.
A: Students should take their AP/IB test as scheduled. Email Eleni Fancher or stop by the Library N112 for an alternate TSI date.

    • Q: What is TSI anyways?!
A: TSI (Texas Success Initiative) is required for all incoming Texas college students to determine college readiness and improve student success in Texas colleges.  It is a computer-adaptive test measuring skills in Reading, Writing and Math.  Its important to do your best!

    • Q: Why am I taking it now?!
A: The TSI exam is required for all incoming Texas college students (unless exempt) to determine readiness for college-level work. Incoming college students not meeting the readiness standards will be required to enroll in appropriate developmental course work.  College is EXPENSIVE!  By taking the TSI exam now, you're allowing yourself time to take advantage of the support available to you at Robert E. Lee and be College Ready by Fall 2018! Depending on how you perform, you may be scheduled in a TSI course next year in order to prepare you for college level courses.
