History

Ramey Elementary School is located on about five acres at 2000 N Forest Ave.  Receiving its  first students in September 1950, the school is named after Judge Thomas B. Ramey, a prominent Tyler lawyer and distinguished church and civic leader.  He was a member of the State Board of Education where he served for nine years.  He was its president for six years.

Ramey conducts a full day Head Start and Kindergarten Program.
