As a Literacy Collaborative school, our goal is to help our children learn effective literacy skills and use literacy as a tool for learning.  The overall goal of the Literacy Collaborative is for our students to become independent, self-extending readers and writers.

As a literacy facilitator, I will teach children on a daily basis, provide staff development and work collaboratively with all teachers in the school.

In a Literacy Collaborative school, Reading Recovery is provided as a safety net for children who, even while experiencing an effective literacy program, are having difficulty on the initial stages of learning to read and write.  As a Reading Recovery teacher on our campus for seven years, I have learned to become a better observer of students and better able to guide their instruction more appropriately, always building from their strengths.

Literacy Collaborative should give us as teachers a common vision and focus in which to move instructionally.  This vision and focus combined with highly motivated, conscientious and bright teachers will make all the difference!

Nuestra escuela es Literacy Collaborative, nuestra meta es ayudar a sus hijos a aprender herramientas útiles para su aprendizaje. El propósito de este programa es que los estudiantes sean lectores y escritores independientes. 

Como coordinadora de este programa, enseñaré a los estudiantes cada día y proporcionare cursos de formación y trabajare conjuntamente con los maestros.

Esta escuela también cuenta con Reading Recovery para aquellos estudiantes que están experimentando problemas en las etapas iniciales del aprendizaje de la lectura. Como maestro de Reading Recovery por siete anos, he aprendido a observar a los estudiantes y ayudarles partiendo siempre de sus áreas mas fuertes.

Literacy debería proporcionar a los maestros con una visión y un objetivos que combinados proporcionen maestros motivados para conseguir cambios.
