I have been with TISD since 2003. I began with the Recent Immigrant Program at Bonner Elementary during 2003 - 2004. In 2004 I came to work at Peete Elementary. I worked with the Recent Immigrant Program here at Peete from 2004 to 2006 and

I am now in charge of ISS and D-Hall. 

D-Hall is designed to help students that have minor short-term behavioral problems focus on the consequences of their actions.

In-school suspension or I.S.S. is a program that has taken the place of Off Campus Detention (O.C.D.) for elementary schools. This program is designed to help students with more serious behavioral problems. When students are in I.S.S., the focus is to complete the assignments given by their teachers and to help these students see that the behavior problems they exhibited do get in the way of learning for others and themselves.  The students in I.S.S. remain at their assigned seat and are not allowed to communicate except by raising their hands.  Except for P.E., lunch and restroom breaks, the students are focused primarily on getting their assignments completed and thinking about the cause and effect relationship between improper behavior and in-school suspension.

The goal is for the students to NOT view I.S.S. as an enjoyable experience so that the behavior that brought them there will cease and they can remain in the regular classroom and receive instruction in a regular setting.

He trabajado para TISD desde 2003.  Comencé con el programa de nuevos inmigrantes en Bonner Elementary en 2003 - 2004. En el 2004  vine a trabajar a Peete Elementary. Trabaje con el programa de recién inmigrantes desde el 2004 al 2006 y actualmente estoy a cargo de  ISS y D-Hall. 

D-Hall ayuda a los estudiantes con problemas leves de comportamiento y se centra en las consecuencias de sus acciones.

Suspensión en la escuela o I.S.S. es el programa que ha sustituido a la suspensión fuera de la escuela (O.C.D.) en las escuelas elementales. Este programa ayuda a estudiantes con problemas de comportamiento mas graves. Cuando los estudiantes están en I.S.S. ellos deben completar las tareas asignadas por sus maestros. Este programa tambien ayuda a los estudiantes a darse cuenta de que su comportamiento se interpone en su aprendizaje y en el de otros. Los estudiantes que están en I.S.S.  deben permanecer en su sitio y no pueden comunicarse a menos que levanten la mano para pedir permiso. Excepto para ir a P.E. al bano y a comer, los estudiantes trabajan únicamente en sus tareas y piensan en la relación entre mal comportamiento y la suspensión en la escuela. La meta de este programa No es que los estudiantes lo vean como algo divertido sino como algo a evitar.
