Second Grade at
Peete Elementary is quite a turning point for students. It is this
year that students are introduced to formal testing. Tests are
designed by the district to very closely resemble the TAKS test but on an
appropriate skill level. This test is graded using a numeric
system. Math is tested each six weeks while Reading is tested in
December and April.
The students must be well prepared before the testing date. We strive to see that all students are working on or above level through the use of many different teaching styles which will ensure that mastery is accomplished. Different teaching approaches are incorporated into the student's learning opportunities. We use Guided Reading and Literacy groups, Accelerated Reading, TAKS Target, Mountain Language, Grace Stasney Math Problem Solving and skill related center activities to help students master targeted objectives. The second grade teachers, parents and students work together hand-in-hand to achieve our goals. |
Segundo grado es un gran cambio, es el ano en el que los estudiantes toman exámenes por primera vez. Estos exámenes son preparados por el distrito y se asemejan a los TAKS solo que están adaptados al nivel. Este examen se califica de forma numérica. Matemáticas se evalúa cada seis semanas y lectura en diciembre y abril. Los estudiantes deben estar bien preparados antes de tomar el examen. Nos esforzamos para que todos estén al nivel o por encima por medio de diferentes métodos. Estos estilos diferentes se usan para garantizar el aprendizaje de cada estudiante. Usamos: Guided Reading, Literacy groups, Accelerated Reading, TAKS Target, Mountain Language, Grace Stasney Math Problem Solving y otras actividades que fomenten el aprendizaje.
