Dixie Elementary
was chosen to receive dance instruction during the school day by
School of Ballet Tyler.
The enrichment
program at Dixie will be taught by professional dancers. The
styles of dance taught will be Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Hip
Hop. Students will finish the class with an appreciation for
the discipline of dance as well as understanding the benefits of
exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle. Studies have shown that
the use of fine arts in the schools increases test performance
and children show an improved self esteem. Dixie will be using
the program as an incentive and reward for selected children.
It is our hope that the use of dance will benefit the children
physically and emotionally. It is designed to be hard work,
rewarding and fun!
Students will
present a performance at the end of the year. |
