School Goals for 2008 - 2009

Our CPOC committee and school staff are committed to reaching and maintaining a high level of excellence and achievement as would be expected in a school striving for a standard of quality. Our goals include:

Academic Expectations:

• Increasing student achievement to reach and exceed the state exemplary standards of 90+% in Reading, Math Writing and Science as measured by TAKS testing

• Increasing the percentage of students who score at commended levels on TAKS tests by increasing expectations of student mastery of grade level objectives from 70% to 90%.

• Increasing the number of students achieving Writing composition scores of 3 and 4.

Community:

• Seeking input by using a yearly survey to assist our decisions and actions for continuous growth

• Encouraging parent participation in school activities and events.

School Climate:

• Create, nurture and build an empowered staff team that embraces their role in participatory leadership.

• Create a school wide management plan so that expectations are clear for students and staff.
