Amy Mahurin has been teaching for 14 years. She has been at St. Louis School for seven years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Missouri Southern State University and her Master of Education from Pittsburg State University. She holds teaching certificates in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Education-Handicapped grades PK-6, Elementary Self-Contained grades 1-8, and Generic Special Education grades PK-12. Amy serves as a Mentor for new teachers. The assistants in the classroom are Minnie Garrett and Melissa Klein. |

Things we do: Group time - great time to learn communication skills through music and movement. Work job time – simple sorting and pre-academic skills as well as cooperation. .Leisure time - computer, choice making, listening to music and building and playing with manipulatives are just a few. Story time – communication skills, listening skills and vocabulary building through books, music, video clips and real objects to hold. Special Activities - horseback riding, Mainstreaming with Grace Community Elementary School.
