Historical Tidbits

Rice is located on 11.66 acres of land in south Tyler which was donated by Hezekiah Fleetwood Rice, a wealthy farmer and landowner. In its beginnings, Rice was an independent school district serving students in grades one through twelve. In 1956, Rice became a part of the Tyler Independent School District.
