Counselor's Corner

Greetings Rice Rangers!

Well, it is that time of year again!!  Are you ready for Red Ribbon Week?  This year Red Ribbon Week will be October 27 – 31 and our theme this year is “Tough Enough? Say NO” and we want ALL our kids to be tough enough to say no now and in the future!  During the week of October 27 – 31, students will be encouraged to bring gently used children’s clothes, toys and school uniforms to school.  These items will be donated to the St. Paul’s Clothes Closet.  If you are able to help, please start cleaning out closets, drawers, toy boxes, etc.  We know that Rice Rangers are caring and committed to helping others in our community!  We appreciate YOU!

The students will tell their teacher how many items they have in their sack/bag the day they bring something.  If you would like to put a number on the outside of the sack/bag, that would be wonderful!  We will have a friendly competition between classes!

The theme days will be the following:

Monday – “Tough Enough? Say NO” (wear camouflage)

Tuesday – “TEAM Up Against Drugs (wear jersey or college shirt)

Wednesday – “I Elect To Be Drug Free” (wear red, white and blue)

Thursday – “It’s Groovy To Be Drug Free” (wear 60s/70s attire)

Friday – “Put A Cap On Drugs” (wear a cap/hat and red)

More details and reminders will be sent home concerning Red Ribbon Week during the month of October.  My awesome parent helper is Stefanie Bice and if you would like to help in any way please let her know.

Working together,
