Counselor Mrs. Stephanie Christian My name is Stephanie Christian and I am thrilled to be the counselor at Jones Elementary School. This will be my 16th year in the education field and my first year at Jones. I have previously worked as a middle school math teacher. I am looking forward to visiting each classroom about once every two weeks to teach character education lessons. The children will learn that great character precedes great success in life, and that character is built and proven in those small decisions we make every day. One special program that we are doing this year is Rachel’s Challenge, based on the writings of an amazing teenager named Rachel Scott. The kids will be challenged to treat others with kindness. And one act of kindness can start a chain reaction in which each person goes out and is kind to someone else. We will be making a big paper chain to document all of the acts of kindness done during the year. Additionally, I am looking forward to bringing some great presentations to Jones, such as “Friends”, an exciting multimedia production that will help our students make wise choices. And of course I will be setting up counseling sessions with individuals and groups to deal with issues that may be hindering them in their school work.
