Vision Statement |
We believe that all Jones students can and will learn basic academic skills. Through the lens of math, science and technology, students will focus on process skills and content to enable them to achieve at advance levels. A rigorous and challenging curriculum will be extended through community partnerships to include the application of knowledge in real world settings, service to the community, and career explorations. We are also committed to addressing the social/emotional, cultural, and physical development of our children. All instruction will take place in a positive atmosphere of mutual respect and high expectations for student, staff, parents and community. Our ultimate goal is to equip our children with the ability to become lifelong learners, to achieve personal fulfillment, and to serve as responsible members of society. |

Visual Model: The telescope exemplifies our core values and guiding philosophy. The tripod provides the support and foundation for our magnet school. The elements of high expectations and mutual respect; the curriculum, instruction, and assessment; and the partnerships with parents, staff, and community are critical to success.
The view into the telescope by all stakeholders always begins with the children and their characteristics, needs, and achievement expectations. Jones will continue to provide the same high quality instruction in each subject area offered in all Tyler ISD schools. However, all lessons will be connected in a meaningful way to science, math, and technology. This unique filtering of the core curriculum through the lens of science content, mathematical and scientific processes, and technology application, is the essence of our magnet program. Students will apply knowledge and extend their learning beyond the classroom, as well. The community partnerships provide opportunities to connect to the real world, explore careers, and serve the community. The ultimate goal is to equip our students with the ability for high academic achievement, lifelong learning, responsible citizenship, and fulfillment of personal goals. |
