School Cheerleaders Bring Home Top Honors

Hubbard Middle School’s 20-member 7th and 8th
grade cheer squad earned top honors at the Universal Cheerleader Association
Camp at The University of Texas at Tyler June 29 – July 2. Hubbard Cheerleaders
beat out 16 teams, including several varsity teams for the highest honor at
camp, the Spirit Banana.
The team also won other awards including, Superior Ribbons
for their Cheer Routine, the “Extreme Dance Routine”, and their home pom
routine. They also took home the Superior Spirit/ Squad Award first place
trophy and a spirit stick..
Each cheer squad chose their six best jumpers to compete
against each other to come up with the best jumper at camp. From Hubbard,
Alyssa Preddy, Morgan Chance, Shalynn Lindsey, Cassidy Hale, Maddie Rocha, and
Sydney Kueck participated in the best jumpers contest with Miss Preddy winning
first-place overall best jumper at camp. Cassidy Hale was awarded Camp
Dance Diva.
Six of the Hubbard cheerleaders, Alyssa Preddy, Maddie
Rocha, Morgan Chance, Cassidy Hale, Sydney Kueck, and Ally Wheeler competed for
the UCA All-Stars Team. Miss Wheeler was named UCA All-Star from Hubbard. She
will have the opportunity to travel to Houston to participate on the All-Star
Team with other UCA All-Star cheerleaders from across the state in the UCA
All-Star activities and parade during Thanksgiving.
