This is Dixie's sixth year with a full time Campus Technology Specialist, Mrs. Diann Darden. Mrs. Darden was a Technology Trainer for Tyler ISD for nine years. She is also a Certified Teacher with a total of 18 years in education.

Dixie has a state of the art computer lab complete with 33 Dell flat screen computers for student use. The students are introduced to new applications/program via an Epson PowerLite projector that is connected to the teacher's computer. The student computer tables were purchased by Dixie's PTA and the wiring for the computers can be hidden from view. Each computer station has a set of stereo headphones with a cleanable surface for the ear pads. This year 30 microphones were purchased for use in the lab. All computers are connected to the Dixie network which is then connected to the TISD network. Classes are held daily for kindergarten through fifth grade students. The lab is also used for teacher training and staff development.

There is also a mobile lab of 11 laptop computers in a rolling cart that teachers can check out for their students to do group work, or research on the internet. These laptops have a wireless connection to the network.

Every classroom is equipped with an Epson projector that allows the teacher to display what is on her computer to the whole class.
