Esperanza is the Spanish
version of MTA.
The Multisensory Teaching Approach(MTA) was developed by Dr.
Margaret Taylor Smith and is a successful skill building process
used to increase the students’ productivity in reading, writing
and spelling. Children are assessed at the end of first grade to
see if MTA will be an intervention needed to overcome reading,
writing and spelling difficulties. After parent permission is
attained, children attend a daily pull-out class.
Continued progress by our MTA pull-out children has increased
our overall success on our state TAKS Test.
