The vacancies listed below are temp-to-hire paraprofessional positions within Tyler ISD. All positions require high school diploma or GED. Other conditions of employment are available at time of interview. Applicants are screened and all persons to be interviewed are contacted. Not all applicants are interviewed. 1805-041      ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL SECRETARY – BOULTER
Requirements:  High school diploma or GED. Fifteen semester hours of college credit with some business orientation or equivalent business school background or 3 years of general/secretarial experience. Demonstrates interest in and aptitude for work to be performed. Ability to grow professionally, keyboarding and computer proficiency; computation skills. Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students,  and parents. Noncontractual (At-will);  Clerical/Technical  Paygrade 3, $10.00 hrly;   estimated 8 daily. Nonexempt. 1806-106      PE  ASSISTANT  - CLARKSTON
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Experience related to working with students or parents; desire and ability to work with students in a physical education setting and effectively communicate with staff, students and parents. 1807-106      INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – CLARKSTON
Requirements:  Be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate; Have experience related to working with students or parents; Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents. To comply with the "No Child Left Behind" requirements, at least 48 semester hours of college credit or pass a rigorous test to be administered through Region VII. Keyboarding and computer proficiency.  Noncontractual (at will)  Pay grade 1, $7.97 hrly. Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt.

1811-122      SECRETARY, DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION – DISTRICT
Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Thirty sem. hours of college credit with some business orientation or equivalent business school training; or successful demonstration of seven areas of competency, including Keyboarding, filing procedures, office records, management and business writing, or three years general bookkeeping/accounting experience;   Keyboarding and computer proficiency;  Computation, organizational and communication skills.  Non Contractual (at-will). 1812-001      LIFE SKILLS ASSISTANT – LEE (2)
Requirements: High School graduate or hold GED.  Two years of experience as an educational assistant or a minimum of 15 semester hours of college credit; experience working with students; ability to work with children with disabilities; desire and ability to work with and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents. Non contractual (at will) C/T Paygrade 2, $8.93 hourly, 8 hour daily. Applications accepted through July 27, 2007.

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, experience related to working with students or parents; typing/computer proficiency and computation skills preferred; desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents. C/T paygrade 1, $7.97 hourly. Wage/Hour; nonexempt.

1814-121      HEAD START CASE MANAGER – HEAD START
Requirements:   High school diploma or GED. Oral and written Spanish fluency, preferred. Current driver’s license, ability to drive, insurable. Desire and ability to work with children. Have experience related to working with students or parents.  Keyboarding and computer proficiency. To comply with the "No Child Left Behind" requirements, at least 48 semester hours of college credit or pass a rigorous test to be administered through Region VII. Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade 3 , $10.00 hourly;    Applications accepted through July 27, 2007.

1815-121              TRAVELING BILINGUAL INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – HEAD START
Requirements: High School graduate or hold GED. Experience related to working with students and parents. Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students and parents. Typing and computer proficiency, with general office experience. Noncontratual (at will) ; C/T paygrade 1, $7.97 hourly.    Applications accepted through  July 27, 2007. 

NOTE: The “No Child Left Behind Law” says that any aide (assistant) who holds a position in a Title I school must hold an Associate Degree or pass a rigorous assessment test to be administered by the District. It also states that aides (assistants) hired after January 8, 2002 must meet these requirements. The District plans to meet this requirement through the Paraprofessional Institute which will be held on various dates at the Region VII Service Center in Kilgore, Texas. Paraprofessionals recommended, who do not have the necessary requirements, will be required to attend the Institute.
