Tyler-Lee Freshman Swimmer Alex Stafford has just been informed that she has been selected to represent the United States in the IBSA (International Blind Sports Association) Youth and Student World Games to be held in Colorado Springs this summer.

The event will be held on the Colorado College Campus (July 11th – 17th) with more than 20 nations and over 250 visually-impaired student-athletes (ages 12-19) competing in Athletics, Swimming, Goalball and Judo.

This will be Alex’s first opportunity to represent the United States in International competition. Alex first represented North Texas last summer when she represented North Texas Swimming in the Southern Zone Swimming Championships, a USA Swimming event which brings together the best age group swimmers from the Southeast United States together each summer.

Stafford has recently completed her first season as a member of the Robert E Lee Varsity Swim Team, where she helped the Girl’s Team win the District 12-5A championship.
