Board Update

·        A & E Consultants

 

A.     Barham Architects and EHRC Architects are providing Construction Administration services throughout the project duration.

 

B.     Barham Architects and EHRC Architects are reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and RFI’s throughout the construction process.

 

C.     Started A & E selection process for Austin, Bonner, Douglas and Peete Elementary Schools.  Results of the selection process are to presented to the board for approval on November 17th.

 

·        Construction Projects

 

A.                 Henry M. Bell Elementary School – New Construction

 

a.       Work Completed 

Earthwork is 98% complete.  All slab on grade is complete except Area “E”.  Concrete sub-contractor has poured the elevated stage and has completed the footing at the two entry towers.

 

b.      Work in Progress

Masonry at the north stair tower is 75% complete. Masonry at the south stair tower is 10% complete.  Masonry at rated fire wall is 85% complete.  Electrical rough-in in the masonry is in progress. Plumber is setting fixture in the gang restrooms.  Mason is installing walls in the kitchen, cafeteria, and gymnasium.  Denson is laying out all interior wall locations.  Submittals are being turned in on schedule. 

 

c.       3-Week Look Ahead

Masons will complete the stairwells and fire wall.  Plumber will continue installation of fixture carriers.  Electrician will continue rough-in.  Structural steel for the 2-story classroom area is scheduled for delivery on November 15th.

B.                 Ramey Elementary School

 

a.       Work Completed

Earthwork is 98% complete. All slab on grade is complete except for Area “E”.  Site utilities are 93% complete.  Collonade footings are complete.  Kitchen grease trap has been installed.

 

b.      Work in Progress

Continue site utility work.  Masonry at the north stairwell is 60% complete.  Masonry at south stairwell is 40% complete.  Electricians are roughing-in at stairwells.  Denson is laying out all interior wall locations.

 

c.       3-Week Look Ahead

Masons will complete north stairwell and south stairwell.  Mason will start walls in the Kitchen, cafetorium and gymnasium.  Plumber will begin installation of fixture carriers in the gang restrooms.  Concrete sub-contractor will complete paving between Garden Valley Road and teachers parking lot.

C.                 Rice/Owens Relief Campus  

                                

a.       Work Completed

       Building pad in complete.

 

b.      Work in Progress

Earthwork is in progress.  Plumbing and electrical rough-in in progress at the east end of the 2-story classroom wing.  Continuous footings are in progress at the east end of the 2-story classroom wing. 

 

c.       3-Week Look Ahead

Earth work will continue.  Utilities will begin week of November 7th.  Foundation sub-contractor will continue work.  Plumbing and electrical underground rough-in will continue.
