B.                 Ramey Elementary School

a.       Work Completed

Structural steel installation is approximately 30% complete and the second floor slab was poured on January 12th.

b.      Work in Progress

Structural steel installation continues in Areas B, C and D.  To recover approximately ten days of the 21 to 28 day delay, the steel subcontractor (Cannon Steel Erection) is working thirteen days on and one day off.  In addition, the subcontractor has more than doubled his crew size. Every reasonable effort is being made to get the steel erected by the end of January.  Because Ramey and Bell are similar, the steel erectors do not have a learning curve.  Masonry work continues at the Gym/Kitchen/Cafetorium.  Drywall commenced approximately one week early which will allow other trades to start early.  Because of the aggressive approach by Denson Construction and Cannon Steel Erection, this work activity will make up approximately 30% of the delay.  At this point, it appears the balance of the delay will be made up in drywall and out of sequence work by other subcontractors in the next 60 days.

Joe Denson of Denson Construction has assured TISD and The Staubach Company that Ramey will open on time.  The unknown factor in completing the project is how weather will affect progress.

c.       3-Week Look Ahead

Masonry work will continue at the Gym/Kitchen/Cafetorium.

Structural steel will continue as well as drywall, plumbing and electrical rough-in, fire sprinkler system and ductwork.
