Dual Credit CTE Courses:  Taken while in high school at the TJC campus and/or the TJC West campus.  Upon successful completion of the course (grade 70 or higher), the student will receive high school credit and college credit at TJC. In order to enroll in dual credit courses, the student will need to pass the following entrance exams at TJC prior to registration:

  • Criminal Justice:  THEA or Accuplacer (Seniors: reading portion only of THEA or Accuplacer);  (Juniors:  all sections)

  • Automotive, HVAC, PC Support, and Welding:  Accuplacer (score of 51 or higher on the reading section

  • AutoIntroTransp:  SDRT (Standard Diagnostic Reading Test)

TISD will pay the student’s TJC tuition for the following courses while student is enrolled in TISD. Transportation will be provided to the TJC West Campus by TISD. Below are TJC courses in which students may earn dual credit (high school and college credit) while enrolled in TISD:
