  • Do you know someone that should be recognized for a special achievement?  Well then we want to hear from you!  Soon the district will be recognizing remarkable staff and students for the following achievements:

     STAFF

    • Advanced degrees or professional certifications
    • Appointments to professional boards
    • Heroic efforts
    • Community service awards
    • Grants received 

     STUDENTS

    • Recognition from community groups (example: boy scout awards, volunteer awards, etc.)
    • Scholarships
    • Grants received
    • Heroic efforts
    • Other (please ask me about any special awards that may not fit into one of the above categories)

  • The Title I Parenting will once again provide Practice Packets for the upcoming STAAR assessments for grades 5 and 8.  Parents may begin calling our office to request a packet on Monday, January 23. Title I office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

  • UIL

    Jones Elementary is excited to announce that we will be participating in the UIL Academic meet this year.  The next competition will be on May 20th.  Students in second thru fifth grade will be compenting in Art, Creative Writing, Dictionary Skills, Maps, Charts, and Graphs, Music Memory, Number Sense, Oral Reading, Ready Writing, Spelling, and Storytelling.  If you have a child that is particiatping please watch for details and forms coming home to be signed and returned!

  • Tyler ISD would like to inform parents of important changes to the reporting dates for the 2016 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) assessments.

     

    The results for the STAAR spring 2016 grades 3-8 administration were scheduled to be reported to districts on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. This date has been moved to Tuesday, July 5, 2016. The Texas Education Agency apologizes for this delay and understands the significant inconvenience late reporting will cause. 

     

    District offices will be closed July 4th through 8th.  Student results will be available for pick up at the campus during the following dates and times:  Monday July 18th  from 8:00 a.m. -12:00 noon and Tuesday July 19th  1:00-4:00 p.m.
