QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree or high
Texas Mid-management, or appropriate Texas Certificate.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with at least five years successful teaching and administrative experience.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate.
SUPERVISES: Professional and paraprofessional staff as assigned.

To provide a districtwide curriculum infrastructure and support to impact student results.
To provide leadership and management of curriculum related instructional programs and services of the district.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Administrative/Professional Pay Grade 8, 226 days Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Works with appropriate staff to develop, maintain, and revise curriculum documents on a systematic review and analysis. |
|
2.
|
Plans, implements, and evaluates TEKS-based instructional programs with teachers and principals, including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques. |
|
3.
|
Applies research and data to improve the content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching/learning process. |
|
4.
|
Communicates the district curriculum, instructional policies, accomplishments, goals, and new directions to parents around the community and solicits their input on these instructional issues. |
|
5.
|
Works to insure curricular alignment in all grade levels. |
|
6.
|
Involves curriculum staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student learning needs; ensure the use of technology in the teaching-learning process. |
|
7.
|
Secures input and data to evaluate curriculum and instruction program effectiveness. |
|
8.
|
Secures consultants, specialists, and other resources to assist principals, teachers, and curriculum staff in attaining objectives. |
|
9.
|
Assists with recruitment, selection, and training of teachers in critical shortage areas. |
|
10.
|
Assists in the planning and implementation of effective staff development activities that address the mission of the district, program evaluation outcomes, and input from teachers and others. |
|

|
Provide, develop, and deliver effective staff development activities that incorporate the mission of the district, program evaluation outcomes, and input from teachers and others. |
|
12.
|
Implements the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy; offers constructive suggestions to ensure that policies and regulations support the teaching and learning process. |
|
13.
|
Complies, maintains files, and presents all reports, records, and other documents required. |
|
14.
|
Demonstrates responsible fiscal control over assigned program budgets. |
|
15.
|
Compiles budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs; ensure that fiscal resources address the mission of the district. |
|
16.
|
Uses appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. |
|
17.
|
Assists with the implementation of the PDAS; may serve as second appraiser. |
|
18.
|
Conferences regularly with assigned staff to discuss performance; jointly develops improvement objectives to identify professional growth opportunities. |
|
19.
|
Demonstrates skill in "coaching" staff, provides technical assistance to principals, teachers, and staff concerning the teaching/learning process, and encourages improved over-all performance. |
|
20.
|
Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities. |
|
21.
|
Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators. |
|

Uses information provided through the District appraisal process to improve performance; evaluates job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness. |

Working Conditions:
Mental Demands: Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and
written); maintain emotional control under stress; coordinate district-wide
mathematics curriculum functions.
Physical Demands: Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer terminal.
Frequent district-wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
