Implement
procedures and coordinate the process to identify gifted and talented
students at all grade levels district-wide, including review of student
data and testing of students. |

Develop and revise
the gifted and talented, Advanced Placement, International
Baccalaureate, Distance Learning, and Concurrent Credit curriculum, as
needed |
|
3.
|
Assist teachers to
develop and provide G/T, AP, IB, and Concurrent Credit students with
alternative course work through curriculum modification, acceleration,
etc. |
|
4.
|
Develop and
coordinate a continuing evaluation of the G/T, AP, IB, Distance Learning
, and Concurrent Credit programs and implement changes based on the
findings. |
|
5.
|
Provide resources
and materials to support staff in accomplishing program goals. |
|
6.
|
Administer and
monitor the G/T, AP, IB, and Concurrent Credit budgets and ensure that
programs are cost-effective and that gifted and talented funds are
managed wisely. |
|
7.
|
Compile and
implement budget and cost estimates based on documented needs of the
programs. |
|
8.
|
Participate in
grant-writing activities to obtain program funding. |
|
9.
|
Assist with the
selection and purchase of supplemental equipment and supplies for the
programs. |
|
10.
|
Assist in the
development of policies and procedures related to the curriculum
division, specifically as related to G/T, IB, AP, Distance Learning,
and Concurrent Credit. |
|
11.
|
Implement the
policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education
rule, and local board policy. |
|
12.
|
Compile, maintain,
file, and present all reports, records, and other documents. |
|
13.
|
Uses information
provided through the District appraisal process to improve performance;
sets performance goals and work plans, and evaluates the job performance
of employees to ensure effectiveness. |
|
14.
|
Recruit, select,
and train personnel. Assist in making sound recommendations about
personnel placement, transfer, retention, discipline, and dismissal. |
|
15.
|
Implements district
student management policies, communicates expected student behavior
related to advanced studies programs, and ensures enforcement of student
discipline in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student
handbook at all special events. |
|
16.
|
Establishes and
maintains open lines of communication by conducting conferences on
vital issues with parents, students, and teachers. |
|
17.
|
Consult with
parents, administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies, and
other relevant individuals regarding students in all advanced studies
programs. |
|
18.
|
Plan and conduct
parent meetings, including parent advisory committee meetings. |
|
19.
|
Articulate the
district’s mission and goals to community and solicit its support in
realizing the mission. |
|
20.
|
Demonstrate
awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet
those needs. |
|
21.
|
Use appropriate and
effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement. |
|
22.
|
Develop and conduct
or arrange for staff development sessions, including sessions on
delivery of instruction, enriched learning in classroom settings, and
methods for identifying and meeting the needs of G/T, A/P, IB, and
Concurrent Credit students. |

23.
|
Improves
leadership skills through self-initiated professional development
activities. |
|
24.
|
Performs duties in
a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA
Code of Ethics for Educators. |
|
25. |
Uses information
provided through the District appraisal process to improve performance. |
|
26. |
Performs other
tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and
as assigned. |
