QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's Degree; Supervision or Mid-Management certificate

  2. Experience in working with low-income families

  3. Experience in working with Title I preferred

  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate

SUPERVISES:    Title I Budgets


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Administrative/Professional Pay Grade 3 , 226 days   Wage/Hour Status: Exempt


JOB GOAL:  Assist the Title I Director in planning, directing, implementing and evaluating in accordance with policies and procedures of Title I, Part A and Title I, Part D.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

 

1.

Encourages and supports the development of innovative instructional materials and scheduling of instructional activities that maximize learning.

2.

Involves the Title I staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials and scheduling of instructional activities that maximize learning.

3.

Assist in establishing the implementation of the TAKS objectives and ensure the tracking of student progress.

4.

Works to ensure curricular alignment in all grade levels.

5.

Obtain and evaluate findings (including student achievement data) to examine curriculum and instructional program effectiveness.

6.

Evaluate the title I grant entitlement and allocation opportunities relevant to the needs of the campus and the district.

7.

Provide effective staff development activities that incorporate the mission of the district, program evaluation outcomes and input from teachers and others.

8.

Consult with administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies and other relevant individuals regarding Title I.

9.

Informs, interprets and recommends the effects of current and impending federal legislation and prepares testimony for the Board concerning pending federal legislation.

10.

Works with designated committees of teachers, principals, and lay persons in specific programs, projects or courses of action.

11.

Obtains information, data and application forms necessary to fulfill the requirements of the Title I application.

12.

Considers and evaluates all requests from school personnel for projects and programs requiring Title I funds.

         13.

Establishes standard practices and procedures for receiving and processing such requests.

 14.

Conducts in-service education workshops in the writing of performance objectives, the drafting of project proposals, and the interpreting of specifications for Title I funding.

 15.

Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule and local board policy.

 16.

Prepares and administers a budget for the department.

         17.

Assumes final responsibility for the writing of all proposals and the filing of all applications for Title I.

         18.

Evaluate all federal legislation, projects and programs as related to Title I.

         19.

Participate in the drafting of project proposals and reports, including the writing and developing of program goals, objectives and budget for programs.

         20.

Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required, including required financial reports to TEA.

         21.

Serve as liaison between school and other agencies on joint projects that are funded by Title I.

         22.

Serves as the designated contact person, implementer and facilitator for the policies and procedures relative to the No Child Left Behind Law as it relates to homeless children and families.

         23.

Works with the Parent Involvement Council and helps to inform parents of programs offered to children attending Title I schools.

         24.

Assist and facilitate professional/paraprofessional staff development.

         25.

Complies with applicable personnel policies, statutes and rules.

                 26.

Secure consultants, specialists and other community resources to assist principals and supervised instructional staff in attaining objectives.

                 27.

Assist with the implementation of the PDAS; may serve as a third appraiser.

                 28.

Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities.

                 29.

Performs duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators.

                 30.

Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position as assigned.

                 31.

Assist in securing consultants, specialists and other community resources for the Title I staff to assist in obtaining their objectives.

                 32.

Provide quality training and monitoring to assist the staff in meeting the needs of students.

                 33.

Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position as assigned.

                 34.

Annually establishes and meets performance goals.

                 35. Oversees the PEIMS process as it relates to the department.

Mental Demands:  Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; coordinate district-wide functions.
