1.  Bachelor's degree

 Job Goal: Provide comprehensive intervention and integrated support services for all students that improves student behavior, attendance and academic achievement.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Administrative/Professional Pay Grade 1, 187 days


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

 

1.       

Integrate support services for all students that will support improvement in student behavior, attendance, and academic achievement.

2.       

Experience required implementing and successfully facilitating one to one support and a student support group.

3.       

Works closely with Principal, Assistant Principals and teachers to insure that student behaviors are properly documented.

4.       

Redirect student behaviors to positively impact academic success in the classroom.

5.       

Support campus attendance in order to get the best possible education for all learners.

6.       

Develop and understand various communication theories and practices that support techniques necessary to effectively assist in education and care of students as needed.

7.       

Provide documentation weekly that supports growth in attendance behavior and academic achievement.

8.       

Responsible for home visits when needed to gather information relating to students.

9.       

Consult with parents, teachers, and other school personnel to determine cause of student problems and find effective solutions to create a positive learning atmosphere.

10.     

Comply with policies established be federal law, State Board of Education rule, and the local Board of Trustees in pursuing the mission of the school district.

11.     

Maintain updated information regarding new state and federal guidelines and laws.

12.     

Perform duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code.

13.     

Use information provided through the district appraisal process to improve performance.

14.     

Maintain confidentiality of information.

15.     

Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.

16.     

Perform other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned.

17.     

Assist with training, planning and implementation of appropriate staff development regarding student behavior documentation.

18.     

Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.

 

Equipment Used:
Computer, copier, fax, related office equipment, and personal vehicle.

Mental Demands:
Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; coordinate several requests simultaneously.
Physical Demands:
Moderate standing, sitting, stooping, bending and lifting; repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer. Occasional irregular hours.
