Plan and
provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent
with speech and language goals contained in Individual Education Plans (IEP).

Conduct
evaluations to assess students with speech or language disorders and
conditions to determine eligibility for services within the required
timelines.

4.
|
Develop
clinical management strategies or procedures and diagnostic statements
by interpreting observations or data.
|
|
5.
|
Participate in
the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee to assist in
interpretation of evaluation data, appropriate placement, and goal
setting for students with communication disorders or conditions
according to district procedures.
|
|
6.
|
Counsel and
involve parents in the remedial process.
|
|
7.
|
Collaborate
with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom activities to
improve communication skills of students.
|
|
8.
|
Provide
professional development in assigned schools to help school personnel
identify and understand communication deficits in students.
|
|
9.
|
Communicate
effectively with colleagues, students, and parents regarding the
accomplishment of therapy goals and needs of the students.
|
|
10.
|
Develop and
coordinate a continuing evaluation of speech-language pathology services
and make changes based on the findings.
|
|
11.
|
Assist in the
selection of equipment and instructional materials.
|
|
12.
|
Complies with
policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education
rule, and the local Board of Trustees in pursuing the mission of the
school district.
|
|
13.
|
Keeps informed
about new state and federal guidelines and policies.
|
|
14.
|
Completes and submits
requested reports, evaluation logs, surveys, etc. to the Director of
Special Education and/or Speech Supervision by the specified due date. |
|
15.
|
Keeps Special Education PEIMS
records and medical information current with 100% accuracy.
|
|
16.
|
Shares or assumes
responsibility of the confidential folders keeping them organized
according to the district's operating guidelines.
|
|
17.
|
Comply with all district and
campus routines and regulations.
|
|
18.
|
Improves leadership skills
through self-initiated professional development activities.
|
|
19.
|
Performs duties in a
professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code
of Ethics for Educators.
|
|
20.
|
Uses information provided though the District
appraisal process to improve performance.
|
|
21. |
Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the
position and as assigned. |
