REPORTS TO: Director of  Communications/Public Relations

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's Degree in business with a major in technology preferred
2. Three years of experience in technology and computer applications
3. Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple technologies
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate and acceptable.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Administrative/Professional; Pay Grade 1; 226 days Wage/Hour Status: Exempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

1.

Maintain the TISD district website.

2.

Maintain the TISD intranet website.

3.

Transform district forms into interactive forms to be used on the district websites for employee use.

4.

Maintain and update employee online evaluations for the Human Resources department.

5.

Assists in the training of district personnel in the construction of web pages.

6.

Assists in the training of district personnel on the software for web authoring and uploading to web server

7.

Work with other departments in the creation of their department websites.

8.

Post new personnel vacancies.

9.

Update district and campus personnel changes.

10.

Post district publications and events on district website.

11.

Assist in reviewing campus websites periodically to ensure they are in compliance with the district web guidelines.

12.

Adding and deleting users as needed and setting permissions for campus web keepers.

13.

Assist district personnel in utilizing the web pages to minimize the district’s paper flow.

14.

Ability to understand and contribute to functional requirements and translate them into technical design and development projects.

15.

Serve as a troubleshooter to the campus web keepers.

16.

Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease down times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide seamless service.

17.

Communicate orally with individuals and groups in face-to-face, one-on-one settings, in group settings, or using telephone

18.

Use Adobe Acrobat to deliver forms through the Intranet.

19.

Present a consistent visual image on district web site by promoting uniform fonts, formatting, icons, images, layout techniques, and modularization.

20.

Assists in the use of information provided through the District appraisal process from other administrators to improve performance.

21.

Participate in professional development programs to improve job performance.

        22.

Perform duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics.

        23.

Uses technology to articulate to the general public the school district's mission and goals.

       24.

Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and assigned.

       25.

Annually establishes and meets performance goals.

       26.

Develops graphic material including web-related, publications, and marketing.

       27.

Utilize page layout software to develop publications, communications and marketing documents.

       28.

Maintains newspaper archive.

       29.

Assists in the preparation of video streaming on the website.

       30.

Updates the TISD TV bulletin board with current district events.

       31.

Assists with the maintenance and updates of the TISD Foundation website.

 

Equipment Used: Computers, printers, scanners, FAX, copiers, spell check devices, video and still cameras, and other technology/media equipment.   

Working Conditions: Mental Demands:  Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal, electronic, and written); maintain emotional control under stress; ability to operate computer and other technologies listed; ability to evaluate instructional materials, speak in public, design and organize training materials and to schedule multiple tasks.

Physical Demands:  Moderate standing, sitting, stooping, bending and lifting; repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer.  Occasional assistance in laboratory installation and configuration; close work with a variety of electronic equipment. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent district-wide travel.
