589 A - TARGET Grant Project Facilitator


 

QUALIFICATIONS:        

  1. Master’s Degree.

  2. Texas Teacher’s Certificate.

  3. Supervisory and/or Mid-Management Certificate.

  4. Demonstrates knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and TAAS objectives.

  5. Specialized training and/or experience in instructional technology.

  6. Effective written and oral communication skills.

  7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Trustees may find appropriate.

JOB GOALS:                 To serve as the chief facilitator for the TARGET Grant Initiative Grant


Terms of Employment: Administrative/Professional Pay Grade 2; 226 days The continuation of this position is contingent upon the renewal of the grant funding this position.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

1.      

Designs methods to streamline teacher paperwork through the use of technology.

2.      

Communicates effectively with staff, students, parents, Board of Trustees, and the community concerning grant activities.

3.      

Demonstrates skill in conflict resolution with administrators, parents, teachers, staff, and/or the community.

4.      

Demonstrates ability to work with others in a positive, productive way.

5.      

Works collaboratively with others in supporting TISD’s philosophy/mission and articulates a vision for the district’s ninth grade program.

6.      

Systematically monitors grant program activities.

7.      

Uses evaluative findings to determine the extent to which goals and objectives of the  project are met.

8.      

Oversees data collection and analysis, including comparison of pre and post intervention data.

9.      

Possess knowledge of the grant program as well as the components of the ninth grade success initiative grant award.

10.  

Applies the findings of research and district studies to improve the content/sequence, and outcomes of the teaching/learning process.

11.  

Provides guidance in the selection of technology equipment and materials used in the project.

12.  

Demonstrates exceptional technology skills as well as a thorough understanding of multidisciplinary technology integration

13.  

Provides instructional resources and curriculum materials to project personnel within the limits of available resources

14.  

Recruit student participants for the project.

15.  

Develops and organizes programs for teachers and administrators on computers and related technologies

16.  

Serve as resource to ninth grade teachers and team leaders.

17.  

Serve as the facilitator for the project and oversee its day to day operation

18.  

Coordinate all data collection and analysis and ensure that the evaluation design for the project has been meet with completeness, accuracy, and within all stated time limits

19.  

Coordinates project activities with other appropriate departments

20.  

Develop application documents, letters to parents, faculty, and students, and all other documents related to the project

21.  

Compiles, maintains, and files all reports and other documents required for the project

22.  

Coordinate entities such as local campuses, district offices, TEA and UT Tyler

23.  

Demonstrate knowledge of educational purchasing.

24.  

Complies with Board policies, federal and State laws;

25.  

Consults with teachers, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students

26.  

Uses information through the District appraisal process to improve performance

27.  

Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators

28.  

Coordinate all project professional development, including the 45 hours of baseline training in the spring of 2002, the two week professional development seminar in the summer of 2002, and the three week summer program

29.  

Keeps accurate documentation of teacher training and provides reports of training to supervisor.

30.  

Communicates project activities, instructional practices, project accomplishments, goals, and new directions to parents, community and news media

31.  

Provides assistance to accomplish the District’s Long Range Plan for Technology

32.  

Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

 

EQUIPMENT USED: 

Uses a variety of computers, printers, televisions, VCRs, digital cameras, storage devices, scanners, projection systems, and other technologies as they become available. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Mental Demands: Reading; ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal); ability to operate computer and other technologies listed; ability to speak to public.  The ability to organize and schedule multiple tasks; and the ability to work under pressure.

Physical Demands: Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer terminal; district and state-wide travel; close work with a variety of electronic equipment; and frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
