789 - COORDINATOR OF TEXTBOOKS AND FIXED ASSETS


QUALIFICATIONS:        

  1. High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree or college courses or related experience preferred.

  2. Three years accounting or bookkeeping experience.

  3. Keyboarding and computer proficiency

  4. Computational, organizational, and communication skills

REPORTS TO:                    Purchasing/Risk Manager

JOB GOALS:                 

  1. Organize and manage the routine work activities necessary to maintain accurate textbook and fixed asset records.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will); Paygrade 5 Estimated 226  days;   estimated 8 hours  daily; Wage/hour:  nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

  1.  

Reconcile with principals the collection of data needed to maintain a fixed asset inventory for the district.

  1.  

Maintain accurate record keeping of fixed assets for the district with accounting department.

  1.  

Communicate with principals to obtain information for ordering textbooks by Texas Education Agency regulations.

  1.  

Order, distribute, and maintain an inventory by campus of all state owned textbooks for the                district.                                                              

  1.  

Communicate with instructional department to obtain the maximum benefit of state adopted textbooks for each campus.

  1.  

Maintains awareness of teaching curriculum as it pertains to textbooks furnished by the state.

  1.  

Supervise employees assisting in the receipt and delivery of textbooks and fixed assets by training them in the proper procedures for receiving, accounting, and delivery of the items.

  1.  

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

  1.  

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and other in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

  1.  

Is prompt and timely in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.

  1.  

Is regular in attendance and complies with notification procedures for absences.

  1.  

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

  1.  

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

  1.  

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

  1.  

Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures.

  1.  

Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

  1.  

Participates in meetings and special events as assigned.

 

EQUIPMENT USED:

Uses computer, typewriter, printer, copier, FAX, calculator, and telephone. Also, operates a forklift and pallet jack.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands: Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to perform basic arithmetic; maintain emotional control under stress. 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:  Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.  Works with frequent interruptions; strenuous walking, standing; moderate lifting and carrying; stopping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.  Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials; work around moving objects or vehicles; exposure to dampness and humidity; exposure to slippery or uneven surfaces.  Overtime work is necessary.
