Utilize knowledge and skills from Braille Literary
Transcribing Certification to transcribe materials including basic
literary, foreign language, music, and Nemeth code rules. |

Transcribe materials including books, workbooks, testing
material, and classroom work for students with visual impairments. |

Maintain accurate records of all transcriptions. |

|
Maintain a properly labeled disk file on all materials
which should be retained for possible future multiple copies. |

Organize accurate time schedules for completing
transcriptions as they are needed by classroom and VI teahcers. |

|
Make necessary adaptations of materials for students with
visual impairments in conjunction with VI and classroom teacher. |

|
Provide adapted materials utilizing a variety of
techniques, including tactile graphics, raised-line drawings, etc. |

|
Interline student brailled materials. |

|
Provide Braille output with a variety of Braille systems
including Braille translation software, braillewriter, and embossers. |

|
Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as
embossers, keyboarding equipment, electronic scanners, and personal
computers. |

|
Order and maintain an inventory of supplies needed for
performance of job duties. |

|
Work with students under the direction of VI professional
to maximize students' independence. |

|
Assist the VI and campus staff with modifications and
supplemental services necessary for the education of students with
visual impairments. |

|
Acquire and implement any necessary updates in computer
technology as it applies to braille production. |

|
Participate in professional development opportunities to
advance Braille skills. This may include participation in additional
Braille programs offered by the National Library Service, Texas School
for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and Region 7 ESC. |

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor
and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be
assigned. |

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships
with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and
demonstrates team work in daily activities. |

Is prompt and timely in completing assignments and
attending to details accurately and efficiently. |
