730A - Athletic Clerk


QUALIFICATIONS:        

  1. High school diploma or GED           

  2. Demonstrates interest in and aptitude for work to be performed

  3. Keyboarding and computer proficiency         

  4. Have clerical/secretarial experience or background

  5. Have experience related to working with students or parents

REPORTS TO:                     Athletic Director

JOB GOALS:                 

  1. Facilitate the effective operations of the athletic department.                  

  2. Provide data entry into journals; complete rental contracts, and perform various clerical functions.

  3. Work under general supervision to provide clerical assistance to the athletic department.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade 2  Estimated 205 days; estimated 8 hours daily; Wage/hour status:  Non-exempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

1.       

Assist the secretary to the Director of athletics with duties as required.  

2.       

Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.        

3.       

Assist in the preparation of the newsletter and various items for mail outs.                        

4.       

File information as needed for events, teams, personnel, etc.                             

5.       

Receive deliveries from various parcel services 

6.       

Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, route to appropriate staff.       

7.       

Enter schedules in the computer to all TISD athletic events and prepare for mail out every week to two weeks.           

8.       

Enter transportation requests for all teams into computer, meet with the transportation department at least once a week to verify transportation needs and to verify trips.

9.       

Enter warehouse orders and work orders into the computer as needed.                               

10.    

Enter data into journals for all athletic teams in various accounts such as team travel, employee travel, fees and dues, awards and trophies, medical expenses, officials, workers, etc. 

11.    

Complete contracts, coordinate rentals with gym coordinators at each campus, receive payments for gym rentals, prepare deposit slips. 

12.    

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor; performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

13.    

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the
conduct of district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.

14.    

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.

15.    

Has regular attendance  and complies with notification procedures for absences.

16.    

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

17.    

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

18.    

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

19.    

Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures.

20.    

Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

21.    

Participates in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.

 

EQUIPMENT USED:
Uses calculator, copier, typewriter, computer, fax machine.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to
perform basic arithmetic; maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors: Moderate standing, walking, stooping, bending,
and lifting. work with frequent interruptions; repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
