723 - Hospitality Food Production Assistant


QUALIFICATIONS:        

  1. Be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate;

  2. Have experience related to working with students or parents;

  3. Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents.

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal

JOB GOALS:                 

  1. To assist the students in culinary classes

  2. To assist the students with hospitality events


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade 1 Estimated 185 days; estimated 8 hrs daily Wage/hour status:  nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

  1.  

Assist students in routine operations of culinary classes.

  1.  

Assist students at job stations.

  1.  

Assist in control of student behavior.

  1.  

Assist in reading of recipes.

  1.  

Monitor preparation of recipes.

  1.  

Operate or assist students operating dangerous equipment.

  1.  

Assist with field trips.

  1.  

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned to assist students in culinary classes.

  1.  

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and students in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

  1.  

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

  1.  

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

  1.  

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

  1.  

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

  1.  

Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures.

  1.  

Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

  1.  

Participates in meetings and special events as assigned.

  1.  

Assist students in following safety procedures in a commercial kitchen.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
Dangerous equipment monitoring (ovens, stoves and blades)
