712 Kindergarten/Early Childhood Instructional


 

QUALIFICATIONS:        

  1. Be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate;

  2. Have experience related to working with students or parents;

  3. Keyboarding and computer proficiency,  preferred

  4. Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents.

REPORTS TO:        Building Principal

JOB GOALS:                 

  1. To assist teachers in their efforts to provide meaningful experiences for kindergarten students in the instructional area and through the use of  resource materials.

  2. Help kindergarten children develop to their fullest potential.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade1

Estimated 185  days;   estimated 4 , 6, or 8 hrs daily


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


 

  1.  

Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.

Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.

  1.  

Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignment.

  1.  

Maintain filing system (writing portfolio, assessment, transportation).

  1.  

Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.

  1.  

Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.

  1.  

Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom.  This includes lunchroom, bus and  playground duty.

  1.  

Monitor good behavior; correct children in cafeteria, if needed.

  1.  

Assist in cleaning cafeteria table tops and picking up trash; mop and sweep floors, if necessary.

  1.  

Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.

  1.  

Circulate during center time; implement center changes.

  1.  

Assist checking library books in and out

  1.  

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.

Is prompt and timely in completing daily tasks.

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.
