711G Pace Instructional Aide


QUALIFICATIONS:        

  1. Be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate;

  2. Have experience related to working with students or parents;

  3. Keyboarding and computer proficiency and computation skills preferred;

  4. Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents.

  5. To comply with the "No Child Left Behind" requirements, at least 48 semester hours of college credit or

    pass a rigorous test to be administered through Region VII.

     

     

REPORTS TO:           Director, Instructional Alternative Programs          

JOB GOALS:                 

  1. To assist classroom teachers as assigned

  2. To assist office staff

  3. To assist with computer laboratory coordination


 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade1  Estimated 185  days;   estimated 8 hrs daily


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

1.       

Maintain computers and software.

2.       

Assist teachers with computers and software.

3.       

Participate in inservice for staff members.

4.       

Assist teachers with recordkeeping and instruction.

5.       

Maintain network system.

6.       

Maintain testing area.

7.       

Assist as needed for copying and assembling papers and front office, as substitute.

8.       

Assist as directed with substitute teacher orientation.

9.       

Assist with end-of-day shut-down procedures.

10.     

Comply with directions and instructions from supervisor, perform other tasks and assume such responsibilities as may be assigned.

11.     

Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates teamwork in daily activities.

12.     

Is prompt and timely in completing daily tasks.

13.     

Meet attendance standards and comply with notification procedures for absences.

14.     

Provide complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

15.     

Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

16.     

Adheres to the district’s safety procedures and policies.

        17. If applicable, input, verify, or update PEIMS information as assigned by supervisor.

Computers, copier, audiovisual equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

            Mental Demands:  Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress   
           
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:    Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
