705 Foundation Assistant, Elementary School


QUALIFICATIONS:     

  1. Be a high school graduate or hold a GED certificate;

  2. Have experience related to working with students or parents;

  3. Keyboarding and computer proficiency preferred;

  4. Desire and ability to work with and effectively communicate with staff, students, and parents.

REPORTS TO:               Building Principal      

JOB GOALS:          

  1. To promptly and efficiently prepare instructional materials for staff.

  2. To assist in campus office.     


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  Noncontractual (At-will); Clerical/Technical Paygrade 1  Estimated 188  days;   estimated 8 hrs daily   Wage/hour status:  nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 

  1.  

Assist office secretary with receptionist duties; including thermo-faxing, transparencies, copying, Keyboarding, filing; enrolling and withdrawing students.

  1.  

Assist in totaling time cards for hourly personnel.

  1.  

Assist with entry of daily attendance in computer.

  1.  

Put up the mail; assist with storage of supplies.

  1.  

Relieve teachers and secretary as needed.

  1.  

Monitor students in cafeteria and at dismissal.

  1.  

Assist in clinic in absence of nurse.

  1.  

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

  1.  

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the  conduct of  district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

  1.  

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.

  1.  

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

  1.  

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

  1.  

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

  1.  

Adheres to the district’s safety policies and procedures.

  1.  

Participates in staff development training programs to improve job performance.

  1.  

Participates in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.

 

EQUIPMENT USED:
Uses copier, typewriter, audiovisual equipment, laminator, thermo-fax machine, duplicator, paper
cutter, computer, adding machine

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands: Reading; ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional
control under stress.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Moderate standing, stooping, bending, and lifting.
