924 - TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ASSISTANT


 

 

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma

  2. Two years experience in television

  3. Possess strong writing and producing skills

  4. Possess excellent shooting, editing and graphics abilities

  5. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop and AfterEffects

Reports to: Direction of Communications/Public Relations

 

Job Goal: Demonstrate creativity, initiative and professionalism while producing educational and promotional productions, such as long-format programs, PSAs, promos, live broadcasts and public relation videos.

 


Terms of Employment: Nonctractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Paygrade 7; Estimated 226 days; Estimated 8 hours daily;

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt


 


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1.         

Presents a positive role model  that supports the mission of the school district.

2.         

Maintains a positive and effective relationship with supervisors and colleagues.  

3.         

Deals sensitively and fairly with persons from diverse cultural background.

4.         

Ensures quality video tape, audio setup, and mixing in the studio and on location.  

5.         

Assists in maintaining appropriate setup lighting in the studio and on location.

6.         

Assists in all aspects of editing including but not limited to assemble editing, insert editing, storyboard editing, and non-linear editing. 

7.         

Assists in creating computer graphic designs when requested.   

8.         

Assists in the bulletin board operation. 

9.         

Assists in maintaining the satellite downlinks and communications.

10.      

Complies with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local Board of Trustees in pursuing the mission of the school district.

11.      

Keeps informed about new state and federal guidelines and laws.

12.      

Improves leadership skills through self-initiated professional development activities.

13.      

Performs duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TEA Code of Ethics for Educators.

14.      

Uses information provided through the District appraisal process to improve performance.

15.      

Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned.

16.      

Annually establishes and meets performance goals.

 

 

EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, copier, fax and related television production equipment.
 

Working Conditions: Mental Demands: Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; work cooperatively with others.
 

Physical Demands: Moderate standing, stooping, bending and lifting.
