919 Catering Manager - Food Service

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Cooking skills and catering experience.
Typing and computer proficiency.
Computational, organization, and communication skills
REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Food Service
JOB GOALS:
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Paygrade: 5; Estimated 228 days; Daily Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Marketing the food service catering program district wide, coordinating and performing these catering functions.
Preparation and cooking for catering functions and when needed utilizing other personnel.
Tracking the catering paperwork and billing as necessary.
Appropriate utilization of food service personnel for catering functions and informing Coordinator of Food Service when requesting assistance.
Obtaining and keeping current a catering call list of Food Service Personnel.
For larger and after hour catering, responsibilities are to contact food service personnel for assistance on a voluntary basis and maintaining time sheets.
Ordering food with the appropriate vendors for the catering program.
Maintain a current cost analysis of our catering menu.
Coordinate testing of new food products for evaluation.
Assist in the process of approving free lunch applications when applicable.
Complies with the policies established by federal and state law and the local Board of Trustees.
Perform duties in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner as defined in the TDA and local district code of conduct.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
Assist the Coordinator of Food Services as required.
Annually establishes and meets performance goals.
Performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as related to the position and as assigned.
Attend meetings and training as necessary to maintain food handler and TSFSA certifications.
Equipment Used: Calculator, computer, copier, fax machine, ovens, tilt skillet, stove, dish machine, steamer, warmer, slicer, chopper, knives, and district vehicle.
Working Conditions: Mental Demands: Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), ability to perform arithmetic, maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands: Standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting over 10 lbs., and driving.
