QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED, Associate Degree in Graphic Arts or Certified Master Craftsman/Printer

  2. Demonstrates interest and a positive attitude conducive to work assignments

  3. Ability to grow professionally

  4. Willingness to work overtime

  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of trustees may find appropriate and acceptable   

REPORTS TO:        ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT, ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES

JOB GOALS:

  1. Duplicating educational and operations document for the district

  2. Preparation of digital reproductions

  3. Assist with the process of bindery, shipping and receiving

  4. Monitor for quality controls

  5. Preventive maintenance of equipment

  6. Expedite production of all phases of the Graphic Arts operations


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades  Paygrade: 8; Estimated  228  days;   estimated 8 hours  daily Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

 

1. 

Operate equipment with a thorough goal, clear sense of direction and purpose in the daily digital production demands.

2. 

Attend to assignments and details accurately and efficiently.

3. 

Responsible for continuous educational growth and working knowledge of Graphic Arts Equipment and operations.

4. 

Proofread T.I.S.D. documents.

5. 

Cut and paste of requested T.I.S.D. documents.

6. 

Assure proper chemistries for digital equipment.

7. 

Prepare proper paper stock for processing.

8. 

Set-up and operate folders, collators, paper drills and stapling equipment

9. 

Package and label requested documents or materials for proper routing to destination.

10.     

Receiving and shipping T.I.S.D. Graphics Department freight.

11.    

Monitor all phases of proofreading, cut and paste, digital reproductions, paper drill, paper cutters, strapping machine, folders, copiers, shipping and receiving operations, etc.

12.     

Perform daily startup and/or shutdown department equipment.

13.     

Clean department equipment weekly.

14.     

Designate specific assignments to proper equipment and department employees daily.

15.     

Monitor activity and production of equipment and department employees daily and document weekly.

16.     

Expedite all requests for materials or documents through proper channels.

17.     

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

        18.

 Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

19.      

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.

20.      

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

21.

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Digital Reproduction Equipment, presses, folders, collators, paper drills, stapling equipment, freight dolly, paper cutter, strapping machine, copiers, binders.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
 

Mental Demands:  Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; mechanical aptitude. 

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling .  Ability to lift 50 pounds;  Work around machinery with moving parts.  Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures and digital chemistries.
