879 CERTIFIED PEST APPLICATOR
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Demonstrates interest in and attitude for work to be performed
Ability to grow professionally
Record keeping ability and proven communication skills
Willingness to work occasional overtime
Demonstrate ability to get along with and work with people
Must maintain current Texas Driver License, maintain appropriate driving record for insurance purposes
Maintain a current State Certification as a non-commercial pesticide applicator
REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR OF MAINTENANCE
JOB GOALS:
District pesticide applications
Maintain accurate and complete records
Maintain pesticide application equipment
Maintain all pesticide chemical
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Non contractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Pay grade: 7; Estimated 232 days; estimated 8 hours daily Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1.
Assumes many duties and responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor of Facility Services
2.
Is prompt and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently
3.
Executes programs concerning pest control applications
4.
Inspects the pesticide treatments of outside contractors and verifies that the terms of all such contracts have been fulfilled before reporting to the Supervisor of Facility Services.
5.
Demonstrates through goal setting a clear sense of direction or purpose in daily activities.
6.
Demonstrates ability to work with others in a positive, productive way.
7.
Represents the school and school district favorably.
8.
Maintains positive and cooperative working relations with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business.
9.
Is prompt and timely in completing daily tasks.
10.
Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.
11.
Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
12.
Meets attendance standards and compiles with notification procedures for absences
EQUIPMENT USED: Manual and power spray equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands:
Ability to read, perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district wide travel, occasional prolonged and irregular hours, work indoors and outdoors to conduct on-site inspections.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movement including climbing, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, walking, standing and carrying. Ability to lift 50 pounds weight. Work outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; dust; toxic chemicals and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, in ditches/excavations, on top of and underneath single story and multi-story buildings, work alone and with other personnel.
